Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your Mintback account and the personal data linked to it at any time. Deleting an account is permanent; it is not a temporary deactivation.

Option 1 — Delete from the app

1. Open the Mintback app.
2. Go to Profile → Account → Delete Account.
3. Complete the recent-authentication check and confirm. Mintback immediately blocks account access and starts the permanent deletion process described below.

Option 2 — Request by email

Email support@mintback.app from the email address registered with your account (or include your registered phone number), with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify ownership and run the same permanent deletion process. Email requests are completed within 30 days.

What is deleted

• Your name, email address, phone number, profile image, and social-login link.
• Your password, active sessions, access tokens, reset tokens, and device/push tokens.
• Saved payout destinations, including bank, UPI, Paytm, Amazon Pay, and PayPal details.
• Your referral code, wishlist, clicks, goals, squad membership, contest entries, and nonfinancial reward activity.
• Complaint text, support identifiers, notifications, and linked bot or browser-extension accounts.

Database erasure is performed as part of the deletion request. Files held in object storage, such as a profile image, are queued for post-commit cleanup so a temporary storage failure cannot restore the account or roll back database deletion. The app may report cleanup as pending; Mintback retries that cleanup without reactivating access.

Limited financial records we retain

Where you have financial history, we retain only a non-login internal account reference and the minimum transaction ledger needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, payment disputes, and regulatory audits. This can include order and cashback amounts, reward credits, withdrawal amount, currency, status, and provider transaction references. We remove profile, contact, payout-destination, voucher-code, support, and authentication data from those records.

The retention deadline is eight years after the end of the financial year containing the latest retained financial activity. After that deadline, the pseudonymous account reference and retained ledger rows are deleted. A legal proceeding, regulatory investigation, or unresolved payment dispute may require a longer period; in that case only the affected records are kept until the matter and its legally required follow-up period end.

Before you delete

Withdraw confirmed cashback and use issued gift cards before deleting. Eligible pending withdrawals and unissued gift-card requests are cancelled. Deletion is blocked while a withdrawal is processing or its provider outcome is ambiguous, so a payment cannot be erased or duplicated. Once deletion completes, the account cannot be recovered and a later sign-up creates a new account.
