The best cashback app is the one that covers the stores you shop at and actually pays out. Here is how they work and what to check before you pick one.
How cashback apps work
Shopping cashback apps are affiliate partners of online stores. When you click through the app and buy, the store pays the app a commission for the referral, and the app passes part of it back to you as cashback. That is why cashback is first shown as pending: the store has to confirm the order was not returned or cancelled before it pays the commission. If the click is not tracked, for example because another extension or coupon site took over the session, there is no commission and no cashback.
Payment apps that give cashback on UPI transfers, recharges or bills work differently: that cashback is a promotion funded by the payments company, not a share of a store commission. If that is mainly what you want, a shopping cashback app is not the right tool.
