How to Stack Coupon Codes with Cashback (Without Losing Tracking)

By Mintback · Updated

A step-by-step order for combining a coupon code, cashback and a bank or card offer, and the mistakes that most often cancel cashback.

A coupon code and cashback are two different discounts. The code lowers the price at checkout. Cashback is a share of the commission the store pays after it confirms your order. They can be combined only when the store allows it, and the order in which you do things matters.

The order that keeps tracking intact

  1. Find the store on Mintback and read the offer conditions, especially anything about coupon codes and excluded categories.
  2. Note the code you want from the same store page (codes listed there belong to that store's current offers).
  3. Activate the tracked link from Mintback. Do this last, right before shopping, so no other link replaces it.
  4. Add items to your cart on the store's site and apply the code at checkout.
  5. Choose your payment method; a bank or card offer is applied by the store or bank at this step.
  6. Pay in the same browser session without opening other coupon or deal sites in between.

Mistakes that commonly cancel cashback

Does a bank offer affect cashback?

Bank and card discounts are run by the bank or the store, separately from affiliate tracking. Whether the cashback is calculated before or after such a discount depends on how the store reports the order value, so treat the cashback estimate as approximate until it is confirmed.
